The genre’s we focus on are: Musical Theatre, Classical, Opera, Gospel, Pop, and Worship.

Your Coach Alexa Serna is a 1st lyrical soprano and has been singing her entire life. It was at the age of two her mother realized she was musically inclined. The first music genre’s Alexa became familiar with was Gospel and Worship Music upon first singing and performing with her mother and grandparents in church. Through elementary school Alexa’s love for music soared, she would annually participate in every talent show, and never missed the opportunity for karaoke. It was in middle school that Alexa’s musical knowledge increased as she began to read and study music as she played the trombone for three years. Upon first entering High School at Gray Stone Day school she met her music mentor who influenced more passions for music.

Alexa was in choir for years along with singing opera, gaining experience with pieces from: Wicked, Hamilton, West Side Story, Phantom of the Opera, and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory to name a few. She has been professionally vocal coached, in repertoire of both English and Italian with pieces such as: Alma Del Core, Bel Piacere, I want to be Ready, and The Daisies. When beginning college she was accepted into the Hayes School of Music at Appalachian State University, UNC Greensboro College of Visual and Performing Arts, and the UNC Charlotte music department. Although, Alexa ultimately chose to study for her associates degree at Central Piedmont Community College, she still had the opportunity to study Piano, Music Fundamentals, and Music theory, along with being in choir at University of North Carolina Charlotte through the Passport Program. Upon finishing Alexa then studied Holistic Health for certifications at Pure Vitality University to become a Holistic Health Practitioner. Her passion for Music and Holistic Wellness is what sparked the name Distilled Vocals. Alexa is still actively exploring her passion for all types of music. She still adores Musical Theatre, frequently sings Opera and she is on the worship team at New Life Church of Jesus Christ located in concord.

“I’m very thankful for the voice Jesus has given me. It has been my ministry, and I don’t know where I’d be without my gift of song and music! I want to help others find their voice. We were created to worship and praise God for eternity. I truly believe that since everyone has the ability to talk, everyone has the ability to sing, they just need help Distilling their Vocals.” - Alexa Serna
