Distilled Vocals Terms and Conditions

By scheduling a lesson, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

1. New Client Onboarding & Consultation

  • Direct Booking: To keep your experience smooth, new clients are welcome to book both virtual and face-to-face lessons directly online.

  • Mandatory Consultation Call: For instructor safety and to properly tailor your experience, all new bookings require a mandatory, brief introductory phone call prior to our first official lesson.

  • Vetting & Adjustments: Once you book, I will reach out to connect. This quick call allows us to verify your details, discuss your vocal goals, and ensure a safe, successful environment. Please note that lessons are subject to format adjustments, rescheduling, or cancellation until this safety check is successfully completed.

2. Service Area & Travel Fees (In-Person Lessons)

  • Complimentary Travel: I provide complimentary travel services for all mobile appointments located within Cabarrus County.

  • Extended Service Area: For face-to-face mobile appointments outside of Cabarrus County, a flat travel fee will be applied to each individual lesson based on the one-way mileage from Downtown Concord:

    • 16–30 miles from Concord: A flat rate of $25 per lesson will be added to your service.

    • 31–50 miles from Concord: A flat rate of $45 per lesson will be added to your service.

    • Greater than 50 miles: A custom travel fee is required. Please contact me directly for a personalized quote prior to booking.

  • Booking Requirement: Clients outside of Cabarrus County must select the appropriate travel fee add-on during checkout. This fee applies per lesson. Failure to do so may result in the appointment being rescheduled or canceled, subject to the cancellation policy.

3. Lesson Environment, Preparation & Safety

  • Limiting Distractions: To maximize our time, we must limit outside distractions. I kindly ask that parents, friends, or family members remain outside the designated lesson area and refrain from conversing with the student while coaching is in session. However, you are always welcome to sit in and quietly observe the lesson from a respectful distance.

  • Student Preparation: If a student is learning specific repertoire, they must arrive prepared with all necessary sheet music and materials. Failure to come prepared may result in a shortened or canceled lesson, which will still be billed at the full rate.

  • Virtual Lesson Requirements: For virtual classes, it is your responsibility to ensure you have a high-speed internet connection and that all equipment is properly connected before our scheduled start time.

  • Safe Environment: I reserve the right to refuse or terminate services at any time if I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. For in-home lessons, you agree to provide a secure, hazard-free, and distraction-free space, and to secure any pets prior to my arrival.

  • Liability: The client assumes all responsibility and risk for any injuries or damages that may arise during or as a result of the lesson, particularly for sessions conducted at their residence.

4. Grace Period & Rescheduling Policy

Your lesson time is reserved exclusively for you. To keep things running smoothly and fairly for everyone, I enforce a strict 15-minute grace period:

  • Virtual Classes: The video room remains open for 15 minutes past our start time. If you do not log on within those 15 minutes, the session is considered a no-show, I will log off, and the lesson is forfeited.

  • Mobile In-Home Lessons: I travel directly to you and will wait outside or knock for up to 15 minutes. If I cannot reach you by the 15-minute mark, I must leave to stay on schedule for subsequent students, and the lesson is forfeited.

  • Late Arrivals: If you are running behind but arrive within the 15-minute window, we will absolutely use whatever time is left in your slot! However, all lessons must still end exactly on schedule out of respect for my time and my schedule with other students.

  • 24-Hour Rescheduling Rule: All lessons require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Lessons canceled or missed without proper 24-hour notice are charged in full and forfeited.

5. Lesson Packages & Payment Terms

  • Individual Lessons:

    • Pricing: Paid at the beginning of each lesson and priced 10% higher than monthly packages.

    • Accepted Payment Methods: I accept digital payments via Zelle or Venmo, alongside credit/debit card billing.

    • 24-Hour Notice Required: You must give a minimum of 24 hours' notice to reschedule. Lessons canceled or missed without 24 hours' notice are charged in full and forfeited.

    • Expiration: If rescheduled properly, the makeup lesson must be completed within 30 days of the original date to keep your vocal momentum going. If not made up within 30 days, the credit expires.

  • Monthly Packages:

    • Pricing & Billing: Billed automatically every 30 days using the card on file. Includes 4 lessons per month at a discounted rate.

    • Auto-Renewal: Auto-renews every 30 days to hold your weekly spot. You may cancel auto-renewal anytime before your next billing date. Monthly packages are non-refundable once the billing cycle begins.

    • 24-Hour Notice Required: To reschedule a package lesson, you must give a minimum of 24 hours' notice. Missed or late-canceled package lessons are automatically forfeited with no refund.

    • Expiration: All package lessons must be scheduled and completed within that specific 30-day billing month. Lessons expire at the end of the billing cycle and do not roll over.

6. Health & Illness Policy (Current Protocol)

  • Active Status: Formal COVID-19 agreement forms and mandatory temperature checks/masks are currently paused for active lessons.

  • Sickness Protocol: I kindly ask you to remain respectful of my health as your coach. If the student experiences a fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms, or gastrointestinal upset, please notify me immediately.

  • Illness Rescheduling: In the event of documented illness, all classes are able to be rescheduled and made up within an extended 2-month window to ensure everyone stays safe. If mandatory protocols are reinstated in the future, failure to comply with safety measures will result in canceled lessons without a refund.
